The Biggest Loser Winner Rachel Frederickson Defends Her Astonishing Weight Loss! Gets Support From NBC And Show's Producers!

biggest loser producers speak out about rachel frederickson weight loss

The Biggest Loser's winner Rachel Frederickson sparked a whirlwind of controversy when she showed up to the finale to reveal an astonishing 155 pound weight loss!

But while some people immediately began making claims that she looked unhealthy, others stood by her side and said there was nothing wrong with her new figure!

Well perhaps the most important person of all is finally speaking out about the hot topic. Rachel Frederickson, herself!!

While she didn't address the controversy directly, she says she's still sticking with all of the healthy tips she picked up from the show:

"I eat a protein in every meal, and then when I had down time, my butt was in the gym! I was on the spin bike, I was at the exercise classes, I was swimming in the pool, and just connecting, too, with all the people in the classes — which was my favorite part. I hid myself so much, so to be able to go to these classes and make connections with the motivation in the room, that was the best part about all of it."

Rachel also says she eats five meals and about 1,600 calories a day, so she's obviously eating right! But perhaps most importantly of all, she says she's happier than ever:

"I never felt this great and I know I'm going to feel ever better, because this life is just so open to me and I can't wait to take charge, because that's what I gained back. It's confidence, it's assuredness of myself to just take charge and conquer this life."

You go, girl!

If that wasn't enough, NBC and the show's production company Shine America also released a statement on the matter and defended Rachel, saying:

"We support Rachel and all of The Biggest Loser contestants who have shared their journeys over the past 15 seasons. We remain committed to helping contestants achieve healthy weight loss and live healthier lifestyles, and to inspiring viewers to do the same."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves!!

The main goal of the show is to help people reach their goals and learn healthier habits to live by!

If Rachel lost her weight with exercise and by eating healthy, that's ALL that should matter!

If she is training as much as she says, 1600 calories per day is not enough and it is unhealthy.

If you look at her face and arms; typical to a person with Anorexia.
Skull is shown through skin and arms are only bones and skin.
And 1600kcal/day, and training; not enough food.

Exercise bulimia is a subset of the psychological disorder called bulimia in which a person is compelled to exercise in an effort aimed at burning the calories of food energy and fat reserves to an excessive level that negatively affects their health. The damage normally occurs through not giving the body adequate rest for athletic recovery compared to their exercise levels, leading to increasing levels of disrepair. If the person eats a normally healthy and adequate diet but exercises in levels they know require higher levels of nutrition, this can also be seen as a form of anorexia. - Wikipedia

A person's arms are not meant to dent in at the top like that. She is definitely underweight.

WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT WHAT YOU EAT AND WHAT YOU DON'T EAT
    LOOK IN THE FUCKING MIRROR
    REGARDLESS OF WHAT SHE'S DOING
SOMETHING IS WRONG YOU FUCKING IDIOTS
HER FACE LOOKS LIKE ONE OF AN ANOREXIC
WHEN DID THAT LOOK BECOME OK ??????
I DON'T GIVE A FUCK HOW FAT YOUR ASS USE TO BE
BEING THAT SKINNY IS JUST THE SAME AS BEING THAT FAT ….

I don't think calling her "too thin" is correct, Her arms and face would suggest she is malnourished

Anyone who looks at Rachel and thinks she looks good is NUTS!!! Trust me I am all for losing weight but she actually looks like she could be sick… Eat a hamburger..

She can say what she wants to say but she starved herself to win 250,000 is the truth. She looks horrible and sickly. That is not a girl who is eating 1,600 calories a day. If she is then most of it is going down the toilet.

Re: loonustoonus – EXACTLY! If she is working out most of the day and only taking in 1600 calories that is not enough.

Her BMI is under what it should be. At 5'5" and 105 pounds she is considered UNDERWEIGHT. Not a healthy image BL should be promoting.

I agree with the 9 commenters. And of course the network is going to back her - it is getting them tons of publicity and they would never admit that the diet and exercise regimen is dangerous. Although I have watched BL since the first season, I do not think the contestants lose the weight in a healthy manner. I've seen so many of them throw up and faint after intense workouts when they first go to the BL ranch. All the trainers push them to reach athlete status in a very short amount of time. How can anyone lose 10, 20, 25 pounds safely in one week? I'll bet the legal waiver they sign is 40 pages long. I hope Rachel finds a healthier lifestyle soon.

You know what? She has lost the weight and looks absolutely amazing. Fuck everyone and their opinion. All she has to do is maintain her weight and enjoy her new life. No one really knows what it is like to live in that skin. Shame on people for throwing shade at her. She should just enjoy her victory. No need to explain herself. Screw everyone and their crappy opinions. She did more for herself in a few months than most people do for themselves in a lifetime!!!!!

Why don't you quit looking at her 105 pound frame and give her the credit she deserves. She lost 155 pounds, that's incredible. none of you are her doctor, let he or she tell her if she's doing it wrong.

    14

losing 45 pounds in a couple of months when you're already at an average weight is NOT HEALTHY.

  15. rebecca says – reply to this

    15

DANGEROUS - too fast, too soon… now the pressure is on her to maintain that weight which will be extremely difficult to do psychologically …I expect an emotional break down and weight going back on. With that much fitness training, it's too fast. The TV show is very dangerous and giving out the wrong messages to girls and women alike. If you diet too quickly and go too hard too soon you will be bitterly disappointed a year from now…what is the point of losing all that weight and not being able to keep it off for life..??

Re: fancypants66 – ahh but you've missed the point…if you diet too quick, yup you can lose all the weight, BUT THE TRUTH IS, it all goes back on again, BECAUSE YOU CANNOT maintain such a low calorie intake. Clearly the weight is off…but she isn't healthy. There is a big difference between being THIN and WEAK, than being LEAN and STRONG…the TV show should be banned…it's giving out the wrong messages.
