The Biggest Loser's winner Rachel Frederickson sparked a whirlwind of controversy when she showed up to the finale to reveal an astonishing 155 pound weight loss!
But while some people immediately began making claims that she looked unhealthy, others stood by her side and said there was nothing wrong with her new figure!
Well perhaps the most important person of all is finally speaking out about the hot topic. Rachel Frederickson, herself!!
While she didn't address the controversy directly, she says she's still sticking with all of the healthy tips she picked up from the show:
"I eat a protein in every meal, and then when I had down time, my butt was in the gym! I was on the spin bike, I was at the exercise classes, I was swimming in the pool, and just connecting, too, with all the people in the classes — which was my favorite part. I hid myself so much, so to be able to go to these classes and make connections with the motivation in the room, that was the best part about all of it."
Rachel also says she eats five meals and about 1,600 calories a day, so she's obviously eating right! But perhaps most importantly of all, she says she's happier than ever:
"I never felt this great and I know I'm going to feel ever better, because this life is just so open to me and I can't wait to take charge, because that's what I gained back. It's confidence, it's assuredness of myself to just take charge and conquer this life."
You go, girl!
If that wasn't enough, NBC and the show's production company Shine America also released a statement on the matter and defended Rachel, saying:
"We support Rachel and all of The Biggest Loser contestants who have shared their journeys over the past 15 seasons. We remain committed to helping contestants achieve healthy weight loss and live healthier lifestyles, and to inspiring viewers to do the same."
We couldn't have said it better ourselves!!
The main goal of the show is to help people reach their goals and learn healthier habits to live by!
If Rachel lost her weight with exercise and by eating healthy, that's ALL that should matter!
