David Beckham Takes His Talents & Handsome Good Looks To South Beach And Officially Announces New MLS Team In Miami!
It looks like David Beckham is the newest face of MLS! Again!!
Over the past couple of days, rumors began swirling that the sexy soccer icon had successfully reached his goal of bringing a brand new franchise to Miami, and just yesterday he took his talents to South Beach to announce the exciting news himself!
Becks held a press conference, wearing a sharp grey suit and blue tie, to open up on some of his future plans for the passion project, and he says there's definitely still a lot of work that needs to be done:
"We're planning to bring a team that will be a global team. I want to create a team that we can start from scratch and I am going to work hard for this city to make this team very successful. It is an exciting time. I have worked with some of the biggest clubs and greatest players and this is a dream."
Luckily, Becks happens to know some soccer players for his highly decorated career that spanned over several countries, and he says he's planning on pulling some strings to bring in talent from all over the world:
"We will bring great players in. The fortunate thing about my career is players are already interested in coming to Miami."
David also talked about his plans to build a brand new stadium over the next couple of years, but his big plans for soccer in Miami don't quite stop there as he's also looking to get the kiddies involved:
"The one thing I want to achieve is to set up a kids' academy. We want local talent, not just great players from abroad. The way the US team have improved has been incredible and the only way that will continue is to have good academies."
This sounds like a great idea to us!!
David managed to bring a ton of excitement to MLS when he fist joined the Los Angeles Galaxy back in 2007, and now that he's on the owners' side of things, it seems like the possibilities seem endless!
