Biggest Loser's Winner Rachel Frederickson Admits To Working Out FOUR Times A Day! Is That The Healthiest Thing To Do Though??
Nobody needs to work out 4 times a day — especially once they reach a healthy weight!!
Though, we get it: she was trying to win a contest. But that doesn't make it healthy and it doesn't excuse it!
Rachel Frederickson left The Biggest Loser Ranch three months ago, and returned an extra 45 pounds lighter than when she left, for a total of 155 lbs lost. Some people saw it as inspiration, some thought for sure she was going to extremes to lose the additional weight.
She responded to the criticism, detailing her diet, but she stands by the idea that her routine is healthy, saying:
"First and foremost, my goals are to be healthy and strong. I'm an athlete. I've been an athlete since I was a little girl. And I went on The Biggest Loser journey to find that confidence that I lost."
Like we mentioned, that "confidence" resulted in taking in 1,600 calories a day via five small meals while following the advice of the show:
"I just continued to follow the support system that I had from The Biggest Loser's [diet] plan, Dr. Cheryl's nutritional advice and … continued to eat super healthy. Now I cannot be out of the kitchen. I have this zest for looking up recipes and trying them and adding new vegetables."
That's healthy, we suppose! But then she said she's been taking:
"… maybe three, four classes a day. I even went home over the holidays to Minnesota, and I went running outside."
Those classes are gym classes, meaning she was doing fitness four times a day!
Luckily, it really does sound like it was a push to win the game, because her future plan sounds healthy enough:
"This next part of my journey, as my body balances and, you know, it finds its rhythm. It's going to be about finding, maybe doing a yoga class this day, a gym class this day and I even, I think I'm going to try dance classes."
It's about a healthy and sustainable weight!
With a job, we would hope that nobody could put the time into working out four times a day — because it's not necessary!
We just want her to be happy AND healthy! A healthy routine that will last forever!
