meryl david and charlie white win gold ice dancing

It looks like the U.S. is coming home from the Sochi Olympics with yet another medal!!

Ice skaters Merly Davis and Charlie White took home the gold for the ice dance earlier today, which is the United States' first EVER win in the event!

The duo scored a 116.63 after a flawless free dance routine to edge out the Canadian couple, Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, who won the event in Vancouver four years ago!

Russia came in third with Elena Ilinykh and Nikita Katsalapov taking home bronze!

We're so excited for Meryl and Charlie and their well-deserved win!

USA! USA! USA!

did you ear about the story a week ago in L'Équipe newspaper (a french paper about sport) appenrently, the russian and the american judges made a deal to make the russian team win the gold in team event and the american in dance. I swear it's true it was published about a week ago. hope it's not true that there is still cheating in figure skating

They didn't deserve the win, if it wasn't for the judges low scoring Tessa and Scott the first day, the Americans wouldn't have won. tsk tsk.
