Surf rage is just as real a thing as road rage.
With extreme sports becoming more and more popular, and certain beaches getting known as surf hot spots, the water is getting pretty crowded.
One thing that's totally not cool? Cutting off another surfer.
Mark Morlock was surfing a a popular Australian surf spot called Snapper Rocks when he accidentally cut off another surfer.
Five months later, he ran across the same man he had cut off as the man paddled up behind him and asked if he remembered him.
"I said, 'Yeah I remember you, what do you want?' Then he let his board go from between his legs, straight into my face. He said, 'You're not laughing now, are you mate?'"
The serfbort rammed Morlock directly in his eye and severely damaged it.
He was hit so badly, doctors were waiting to see if the eye could even be saved.
"Within six seconds of him announcing his presence, he’d done this horrible trick that only a surfer knows, but one I thought would never happen to me. It was the most brutal, cowardly thing I’ve ever seen."
What's even crazier is that when Morlock was waiting to be taken to a hospital the angry surfer approached him again, trying to continue the fight.
Luckily, after 12 hours of microsurgery, it seems like a won't lose sight in his eye.
What we don't get is that Morlock doesn't want to press charges against the man, he just hopes his attacker gets anger-management.
We're just glad he didn't lose an eye and we hope justice is served so nothing like this happens again!
