Considering we live in the so-called "Digital Age," you would think most people are pretty well-versed when it comes to technology! However, a recent study found that was NOT the case!!
A website known as vouchercloud decided to put Americans to the test by giving 2,392 men a women ages 18 and up a list of both technology-related and non-technology-related terms. Participants then had to try and pick the correct definition of each term out of three possible options, completely unaware of what they were being tested on.
The results were embarrassing to say the least, as they found 11% of Americans thought HTML was a STD! But the buck doesn't quite stop there as there were even more strange findings, including:
42% defined "Motherboard" as the deck of a cruise ship
23% defined "MP3" as a Star Wars robot
18% defined "Blu-ray" as a marine animal
15% defined "Software" as comfortable clothing
12% defined "USB" as an acronym for a European country
A couple different websites have question the validity of the survey, however vouchercloud claims that the results are 100% real!!
Wow! Apparently tech-talk does not compute in the states!
