It seems like every skincare company has a new magical trick for us or some new secret to share about skincare.
We don't really know who or what to believe when it comes to what's good for us… but as far as what's bad for us? That's a bit easier!
Pets - They may be cute but they can also carry skin infections like staph and MRSA!
Milk - Docs aren't exactly sure why but studies have shown that reduced milk consumption can affect acne
Overuse of topical meds - If you've been prescribed a medicinal cream for your face, don't use it longer than directed, these creams can sometimes be pretty harsh on the skin
Jeans - nickel found in the buttons on jeans or belt buckles can cause a bumpy skin rash in those sensitive to it
Limes - Did you know if you get lime juice on your skin and then spend time in the sun there can be a phototoxic reaction that can lead to a serious that can last for weeks or even months??
Laptops - Apparently, aside from burns from hot MacBooks, infrared radiation from laptops can cause a reddish-purple rash after repeated exposure to the thighs. Gross!
Sports Equipment - The force a golf club or tennis racket transfers to your palm can leave you with dark purple spots! They're small hemorrhages! Ouch!
If you're doing one or ALL of these things, maybe you could experiment with cutting it out or doing it differently!
Oh and always wear sunscreen! It helps skin to stay young and keeps away the cancer!
