This is incredibly sad!
Last night, former President George H.W. Bush was taken by ambulance to Houston Methodist Hospital after experiencing a shortness of breath.
According to spokesman Jim McGrath, George W. Bush's father:

AAAAAND we're back!!
After an impressive first week to kick of the season of DWTS, contestants got a chance to step up their game and challenge themselves by picking their very own dances! While the risk didn't quite pay off for everyone, others knocked their routines out of the park!!
Double amputee Amy Purdy was easily one of the biggest highlights of week one after she and Derek Hough pulled off an amazing cha cha! However, the paralympian admitted she was a bit worried with her choice of going with a swing dance considering her prosthetics could fly off at any minute! Despite her fears, Amy once again managed to blow away the judges and earned yet another 24 for her impressive routine!
From the very beginning, Candace Cameron Bure made it clear that she would be keeping all of her routines very PG rated, so her decision to go with the rumba was pretty interesting considering it's known as the dance of love! However, she decided to switch it up and give it contemporary twist to make it tad more romantic and less sexual! The judges didn't seem to pleased with the change as she earned a 21, and we're guessing a lot of that had to do with that fact that she wouldn't let Mark Ballas take his shirt off!!
Danica McKellar got off to a strong start last week, but her partner Val Chmerkovskiy was convinced there was room for improvement and pushed her EXTRA hard for a samba that isn't quite meant for beginners! The Wonder Years starlet seemed to have a tough time during rehearsals and nearly broke down under the pressure, but it all paid off as she earned another 24!
NeNe Leakes decided to let her hubby Gregg pick out her dance for the week, and he ultimately went with the jive. Unfortunately, the routine may not have been the best choice as she struggled in rehearsals with Tony Dovolani and saw a slight decrease in her score as she earned a 21! Hopefully Gregg will find a way to make it up to her!
Gold medalist Meryl Davis decided to put her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy to the test by picking a swing dance that included LOTS of lifts and aerials! While the ice skater had a bit of a tough time sticking her landings in rehearsals, she absolutely nailed it when it mattered and tied for the highest score of the night with a 25!
Charlie White recruited Maksim to help release his inner bad boy so he and Sharna Burgess could pull off the perfect tango! The coaching definitely seemed to pay off as he was the high scorer for the second week in a row with yet another 25, which would have been a LOT higher if Len Goodman didn't penalize him for breaking his hold!!
Last week, the judges were pretty honest that James Maslow needed to step up his sexy game and give the people some eye candy! Well he DEFINITELY heard their demands as he and Peta Murgatroyd pulled off a salsa that was so hot, Carrie Ann Inaba inducted it into her "sexy hall of fame!" Not only that, but they tied for the highest score of the night with a 25!!
It was definitely great to see contestants challenge themselves and step out of their comfort zones a bit, and we're sure it will only get better from here on out! So who's the front-runner so far?? It's hard to tell, but we're enjoying the ride!
Ch-ch-check out the rest of the performances (below)!
