Snickers Gets Offensive With Their New Ad! Find Out How Hunger And Misogyny Go Hand-In-Hand HERE!

| Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueAustraliasticBusiness BlitzAd CampaignsFood

There is so much offensive material here, we’re not sure who got the worse end of the stick candy bar!

Snickers revealed a new ad in Australia, and it sends one heck of a terrible message!

In the commercial, construction workers swapped their typical gross cat calls for encouraging statements, like:

“That color really works on you! Have a productive day!”

And the call-response of:

“What do we want? Equality! What don’t we want? Misogyny!”

Then at the end, Snickers runs their tagline, “You’re not you when you’re hungry.”

So, once these guys eat some food they’ll become a misogynistic and start objectifying women again?! And that's BETTER than how they act when they're hungry??

While this is a terrible ad for so many reasons, it does bring attention to one everyday thing that women may have to deal with.

Maybe we don’t all need a Snickers, but we can take this as a reality check, right?

It seems like every day you have to make a post calling something "offensive". This commercial is just playing off the stereotype of construction workers, and it is FUNNY!
The only message it is trying to send is "buy Snickers".
You make rude comments about women all the time. I get the feeling that you think since you're gay that you get a free pass. You don't. If you want straight men to live by a certain code when it comes to women, then you have to live by it too.

Whats a "creepy dirty old man"? Thats what white females call the older generation of white men who believed in them and gave them equality and equal rights (like my dad… for having a much younger wife). Whats a "gold digger"? Thats what white females call white females who don't practice anti white male ageism whether he is rich or not (even if SHE is rich herself). There are alot more ageist and racist white females who hate older white males and minorities than there are sexist white males. ALOT MORE. In the end, very few males on earth have created better countries for their women than us white males did for ours. I dont think this ad is offensive. The idea that everything a male does has misogynist motives is misandry.

Really Perez? THIS you find offensive, yet you praise so many music videos that are 10 times as misogynistic, and you consistently praise women who take their clothes off for attention. If anything, this ad points out misogyny in a funny way.

Re: the best is made for u – You make it sound like men in this part of the world benevolently gave women all they have now. Not so. Women had to fight for the vote, and fight for every little step towards equality. The men in charge resisted, and continue to resist, every step of the way.

Re: rosebud99 – Nobody is denying that sexism has existed in the past but thats the bibles' fault AND women were the victims of circumstance (there were no daycare centers. Women had to stay home or babies would die. Male nipples struggle). In the old days people took the bible literally and the bible basically says "men are king. Women are supposed to be quiet and submissive. Its all Eve's fault.". These days, religion is being replaced by science and humans are becoming more and more agnostic/atheist and few religious people have actually read the entire bible (10%) and dont even know what it says. THAT is what freed women from their bible rooted binds. But I cant really forget that White females believed a woman's place was in the kitchen when she had a black slave. It wasnt until that slave was gone that she griped about women in a kitchen. But thats all history. Today white women earn more money than some minority males.

Seriously? I found it funny. It is all about having a good sense of humor and laughing at the sterotype. It is the same thing when people make dumb blonde jokes…
The things that you and your people bitch about really piss me off because you used to sit behind the computer and write offensive shit all the time and now you try and make up for it by sticking up for others over pointless crap.

Either quit this gossip column or get new writers because you guys are seriously SUCKING nowadays.

PS. while I'm ranting, stop writing stories from "sources". A bunch of bullshit.

I understood what it was saying but I still think it was a funny commercial. It's just life. Why take it all so seriously

Hilarious, and love Aussie humour. They're getting a great reception, aren't they. Any male light bulbs going on yet?
