We don't think we'll ever be able to enjoy a bowl of Froot Loops the same way EVER again!!
Everyone knows the fun-loving characters like Toucan Sam and Cap'n Crunch who grace the boxes of some of our favorite cereals, but did you know they serve a fairly creepy function??
A new study conducted by Cornell University found that cereal targeted towards children were on average placed on shelves about 23 inches from the ground, which is lower than most "adult" cereals!
Nothing too surprising, right? Well what if we told you most of these boxes have characters that are looking down so they can make eye-contact with children!
Yeah, that's just plain creepy!
Studies have found that eye-contact builds a connection with the consumer and thus builds brand loyaltly, which basically means Toucan Sam is watching your kids so you'll buy more Froot Loops!
We think we'll stick with oatmeal from now on!
