Oscars Pistorius Takes The Stand And Recounts IN DETAIL The Night Reeva Steenkamp Was Murdered! Get The Bone-Chilling Details HERE!
After an extremely emotional day in court yesterday, Oscar Pistorius once again took the stand today in Pretoria to finally tell his side of the story.
The former sprinter was visibly upset as he recounted the night he shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in his apartment last year, and he stood by his claims that he mistook her for an intruder and fired his gun in self-defense.
"I got to the entrance of the bathroom at the end of the passage where I stopped screaming. At this point I was certain that the intruders were in the bathroom. I had my pistol in my right hand and peered into the bathroom. I didn't have much mobility on the tiles. I had my pistol raised to the corner of the entrance of the bathroom. I noticed that the bathroom window was open. I was with my back against the wall. I wasn't sure if the intruders were in the toilet or around the corner at that point. Then I heard a noise from inside the toilet that I perceived to be someone coming out of the toilet. Before I knew it I had fired four shots at the door. My ears were still ringing. I couldn't hear anything, so I kept shouting for Reeva to phone the police. I was still scared to retreat because I wasn't sure if there was somebody on the ladder or someone in the toilet. I didn't want to believe it could be Reeva inside the toilet. I didn't know what to do. I kicked the door. I was crying out, I was screaming. I have never screamed like that."
By the time Oscar reached Reeva, he said it was clear that she was no longer breathing.
The paralympian still claims he was actually trying to protect his girlfriend from intruders, however, multiple witnesses have already testified saying they heard an argument before the shots were fired.
A string of text messages between the two were released earlier and showed Reeva saying she was "scared" or Oscar when he gets jealous. Another witness has also testified saying Oscar has a history of being very reckless with his firearms.
After a long and emotional day court was eventually adjourned, but there are still a lot of questions that have been left unanswered. The trial will continue tomorrow.
