Ever since 3-D printers hit the market, everyone has been trying to print all sorts of crazy things!
Doctors are now trying to 3-D print a human heart! That's nuts!
Basically, the goal is to be able to use a person's own cells as the "ink" and then they can build them a new heart that's made up of them same stuff as them!
The printer uses a gel and the person's cells to make the structure and the cells eventually grow together and form the bond.
That means no more anti-rejection drugs, which keep the body from rejecting a foreign object like a donor heart.
It's still almost a decade away from actually being something we could test on a patient, but it's still very exciting.
