Looks like the whole gang is going down!
Lance Armstrong’s longtime cycling coach Johan Bruyneel has been banned from all sports for a decade for helping his players dope!
Even though the four-day hearing happened last December, the verdict wasn’t handed down until Tuesday, when they also gave the team trainer Jose "Pepe" Marti and doctor Pedro Celaya eight-year bans for the drugs.
As for Bruyneel, he knows his goose was cooked, and only added:
"I do not dispute that there are certain elements of my career that I wish had been different. However, a very small minority of us has been used as scapegoats for an entire generation."
So, basically he’s upset that he’s the one who got caught…
The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency feels differently, and their ruling stated:
"Each witness testified that Mr. Bruyneel organized, assisted, and encouraged the use of doping for riders on those teams.”
And the reason that Bruyneel has been banned longer than the usual four years is because these guys were deemed to be part of a much bigger doping conspiracy.
