Magic Johnson Wants Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Forced Out Of The NBA! But Sterling Says The Racist Recording Was Possibly Altered!

donald sterling racist comments statement magic johnson responds

Let the damage control begin.

Donald Sterling made some ridiculously hurtful and racist statements about not wanting Black people at Los Angeles Clippers games.

Well, Sterling’s people are scrambling, saying that the tape may have been altered! They say that the alleged woman who released it is currently in a legal battle with him for embezzling $1.8 million, and that she said she would “get even.” They also added:

"Mr. Sterling is emphatic that what is reflected on that recording is not consistent with, nor does it reflect his views, beliefs or feelings. It is the antithesis of who he is, what he believes and how he has lived his life. He feels terrible that such sentiments are being attributed to him and apologizes to anyone who might have been hurt by them.”

The problem with that lie is that there are at least three legal cases where Sterling was accused of being a racist, so it apparently does reflect his views!

With all of this in the open, the man who started it all in the Instagram pic with Sterling’s girlfriend, Magic Johnson, is voicing his opinion.

In a call to TMZ, Magic made it very clear that the NBA needs to take the team away from Sterling because there’s no room for racism in this world, let alone the league! He also said that he’ll never go to a Clippers game as long as Sterling is the owner, and he encourages other people to do the same.

Right on, Magic! You said it all!

Thoughts???

I'm having a big problem believing this man was yelling at his black/mexican girlfriend about being photographed with Magic Johnson and yelling about her bringing black people to games with her. It makes no sense unless the old man has some form of dementia. Let the tapes be checked for alterations before we judge.

I hope the guy loses his team. What I really hate is that we have government commenting on this. I don't care what Obama or ANY OTHER government has to say. Stay out of this shit. You have a BOAT LOAD OF CRAP TO TAKE CARE OF… Fix it instead of your crappy comments on sports, hollywood, or any other crapfest. Stick to government instead of wanting to be on a talk show, comedy, or any other Hollywood show. YOU ARE NOT A CELEBRITY. Got it?

Would want the tapes authenticated. Always seems to be more to the story when this kind of stuff comes out like this. I don't think I would be out there touting stuff against this owner until its known whether or not the tapes were tampered with. If the tapes are proven to be unaltered then its time to institute some serious sanctions, up to and including, losing the right to "own" the team.

Re: karen – Sorr you're so stupid. Do you think for one minute the white house would even venture into those waters and make a comment without being sure it's him? Are you that stupid? Here's the deal. He's a racist pig, and he got caught ON TAPE and it deserved a comment. Are you a racist too?

"According to racial equality activist Richard Lapchick, the NBA in 2011 was composed of 78 percent black players, 17 percent whites, four percent Latinos, and one percent Asian. The league had by far the highest percentage of black players of any major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada." –you can't say no black people allowed anywhere of course, but you especially can't say that at a place where they dominate like in the nba

In August 2006, the U.S. Department of Justice sued Sterling for housing discrimination in using race as a factor in filling some of his apartment buildings. The suit charged that Sterling refused to rent to non-Koreans in the Koreatown neighborhood and to African Americans in Beverly Hills.[10] The suit alleges Sterling once said he did not like to rent to Hispanics because they "smoke, drink and just hang around the building," and that "Black tenants smell and attract vermin."[10] In November 2009, ESPN reported that Sterling agreed to pay a fine of $2.73 million to settle claims brought by the Justice Department and Davin Day of Newport Beach that he engaged in discriminatory rental practices against Hispanics, blacks, and families with children.[11] In addition, Sterling was also ordered to pay attorneys' fees and costs in that action of $4,923,554.75. [Order Granting Motion for Prevailing Party's Attorneys' Fees and Costs, dated November 2, 2005, C.D. Cal. Case No. 2:03-cv-00859-DSF-E Dkt No. 454]. In granting the attorney's fees and costs Judge Dale S. Fischer noted "Sterling's' scorched earth' litigation tactics, some of which are described by the Plaintiffs' counsel and some of which were observed by the Court. The Court has no difficulty accepting Plaintiffs' counsel's representations that the time required to be spent on this case was increased by defendant's counsel's often unacceptable, and sometimes outrageous conduct." [Id. at p. 5]

Re: Petia – Thanks, this shows he has a history of being a racist. What surprises me more is that he has a 20 year old girlfriend. Hope this cures him of at least that horrible habit.

Re: beach – are you kidding this is Obama. not exactly known for knowing what he's talking about. He went to Asia and accomplished NOTHING. Ask Obama anything important about anything he doesn't know anything. fast and furious, Benghazi, nsa, irs, creating jobs, foreign policy ( I don't know what his foreign policy except I believe it means "bend over. He is WELL known for butting into cases that really are NONE of his business.

Re: beach – you called another commenter stupid. I believe you're the ignorant one. Obama supposedly the Harvard trained constitutional lawyer was responsible for having hundreds of military sex abuse cases thrown out because of his butting in. If Obama REALLY is a Harvard law grad they should ask for his diploma back. the sec of defense, who I believe was Gates had to tell this brilliant lawyer to shut the fuck up.
