Following her return, the artist took a moment to thank everyone for their "prayers, love, and support" -- and especially the North Bergen Police Department for bringing her home safe.
Sharing a picture alongside the NYPD, Miz Quigley penned:
Well it appears a few more companies have decided to follow suit as the franchise's sponsors are starting to drop like flies!
Kia Motors, Virgin America, and Red Bull are some of the latest sponsors to distance themselves from the Clippers amidst the controversy surrounding their owner!
Diddy's water brand AQUAHydrate also decided to drop out, and released a statement saying:
"In the wake of Donald Sterling's alleged defamatory and intolerable comments we have decided to suspend our sponsorship with the L.A. Clippers until the NBA completes its investigation. We fully support the players and fans of the L.A. Clippers and wish them the best in the remainder of the playoffs."
Amtrak is another sponsor of the Clippers, and while they haven't pulled out completely, they released a statement saying they're watching the situation very carefully:
"Amtrak believes the language used is unacceptable and is inconsistent with our corporate belief to treat everyone with integrity and dignity. As with any sponsorship advertising, some assets remain in market – to that end we are diligently working to remove all sponsorship assets. Moving forward, we will continue to monitor the situation as we look to make decisions about 2014-15 sports marketing sponsorships."
Anheuser-Busch also decided to address the issue, and even though they are a sponsor of the NBA and NOT the team, they said they support the league decision to take action against Donald:
"As the official beer of the NBA, we are disappointed to hear the alleged recent comments attributed to L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling. While Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light are not team sponsors of the L.A. Clippers, we fully support the NBA's efforts to investigate quickly and trust that they will take appropriate action."
The league technically can't force Donald Sterling to sell the team, however, it's great to see sponsors taking action and hitting him where it really hurts. His wallet!
Hopefully more companies will continue to take a stand against his nasty remarks!
UPDATE: Even MORE sponsors are continuing to cut their ties to the Clippers, as Corona has decided to suspend their business with the franchise until the NBA finishes their investigation! The company released a statement, saying:
"Like everyone else, Corona is appalled by the comments allegedly made by the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. These comments run counter to the type of brand Corona aspires to be. Because of this, we are suspending our sponsorship agreement with the Clippers until the NBA completes its investigation."
A number of other companies such as Sprint, LoanMart, Lumber Liquidators, and Yokohama Tire Corporation have also decided to suspend their sponsorships until further notice.
Mercedes-Benz has decided to completely cut their ties to the Clippers altogether, effective immediately.
With all of these sponsors dropping out, we can't help but wonder how many they even have left!
