This proves that there definitely should be more spud control in this country!
Gary Deming of Cranston, Rhode Island was arrested on charges of robbery after he allegedly tried heisting a convenience store and a dry cleaner by pretending his potato was a gun.
This story is scrumptious and scary at the same time.
Apparently, the convenience store owner chased him out with a bat! Screech screech! "Ah," he might have screamed. "Get these bats away from my sweet potatoes! Well, they're not SWEET potatoes, but potatoes that happen to be sweet."
Okay, so that didn't happen (probably) and it wasn't the animal version of a bat, but wouldn't that have been a twist?
In addition, a dry cleaner employee gave him a fake $20 bill from a decoy register! Nice try, Master Tater!
Gary is also being accused of breaking into his sister's abode on the day of this alleged potato robbery, and allegedly took her purse, debit card, and $100! Poor lil' sis!
So much legal drama starting off with a single tuber!
If he loses his trial, we wonder if he'll try his luck in a court of a-peels?!
