Tyra Banks Shines Light On Growing Up With Awful Perceived Weight Problems: 'People Thought I Had An Eating Disorder!'
Well she's once again speaking out about her struggles with weight growing up, but this time she's talking about being too THIN!!
"The summer I turned 11 years old, I lost 30 lbs and I had a growth spurt. And it wasn't even supermodel thin. It was more than that. Some people thought I had an eating disorder. There was nothing I could do to gain weight."
While Tyra did NOT suffer from an eating disorder, she says she was constantly visiting the doctor to see why she wasn't gaining any weight:
"I was poked with a lot of needles to see what was wrong with me. I was even misdiagnosed with gigantism. Who would have thought that the girl who was forced to go to the hospital because she's so skinny would one day be called too fat? I know the pain of somebody who's too thin and the pain of somebody that people say is too big."
Tyra is now hoping to help other by sharing her story with others and showing aspiring models and actresses that you CAN overcome these weight issues and still be successful like she is!
It's always great to hear Tyra speak out against weight issues in such an unforgiving industry, and hopefully young girls out there are hearing her message!
