This is incredibly sad!

We've hit week 8 this season on Dancing With The Stars which means playtime is officially over, and the contestants are definitely feeling the heat as we had one of the highest scoring nights of the year!
But just because the competitors are bringing their A-game does NOT mean there was any shortage of D-R-A-M-A! This week, Dance Moms' controversial star Abby Lee Miller joined the judges tables, and let's just say she rubbed some of the dancers the wrong way, particularly the Chmerkovskiy brothers!
The night started off with a bang as Charlie White and Sharna Burgess were the first to take the dance floor, and as we saw in their package they were NOT happy with their scores last week! Hungry for 10s, the duo took their rehearsals VERY seriously! Charlie also got a special visit from his mother who gave him a MAJOR boost, and it all seemed to pay off as he got the perfect score he was looking for with his amazing quickstep!
Once again, Danica McKellar had to dance through some pain as she continues to compete with with a fractured rib! However, you probably wouldn't have known by watching her amazing tango with Val Chmerkovskiy that earned them the second highest score of the night with a 38! Unfortunately, Danica was in jeopardy, and her routine wasn't enough to keep her from being sent home as she was eliminated!
James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd might not be the only duo who has to fight romance rumors anymore, as Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy once again showed they have a TON of chemistry in rehearsals! The duo pulled off an incredibly emotional rumba which involved a lot of slapping and table throwing antics! While they earned a respectable score of 36, Maks was NOT happy with Abby Lee giving them an 8 and he let her know when he said he didn't care about ANYTHING she had to say! YIKES!
Candace Cameron Bure has had some struggles lately as she's found herself near the bottom of the leader board a few weeks in a row now! So the actress wanted to make sure she bucked that trend with her partner Mark Ballas! The two ended up having one of the most fun routines of the night as they did a foxtrot that saw them arguing over the remote control like a married couple, and the judges definitely seemed to enjoy it as they gave them a 36!
Speaking of married couples, James and Peta were once again addressing romance rumors as James' Big Time Rush bandmates had lots of questions about their relationship while they visited their rehearsals! However, the duo seemed more focused on bouncing back after being the low scorers last week! James and Peta definitely toned down the sexiness a bit for their Viennese waltz, but that didn't stop them earning a 10 from Abby Lee and a total of 36!
Amy Purdy had quite a scare last week as she had to be rushed to the hospital DURING the show after she began to experiencing back spasms! Luckily, she was cleared to continue competing for the rest of the season, but Derek Hough did NOT want to risk re-injuring her back, so he brought in another dancer so he could show her the choreography while she healed! Somehow everything seemed to work out as they earned the second perfect score of the night as judges gave them a 40 for their Argentine tango! Wow! Is there anything Amy CAN'T do?!
After the individual dances, teams were paired up and had a chance to boost their scores with a duel routine that saw 4 dancers on the floor at once! The first pairing was Danica and Meryl, who seemed to have some trouble dealing with both Chmerkovskiy brothers at once! Luckily, the tension was broken when they got a visit from their grandmother who brought out a softer side in both of the boys! That all changed after their routine when the judges gave them a 34 for their samba, and just like his brother, Val clashed with Abby Lee when she criticized Danica!
Charlie and Candace probably had the most ambitious duel routine of the night, as the gold-medalist had the brave decision of coming up with his very own choreography where Candace didn't touch the ground for a full 20 seconds! The creative move DEFINITELY paid off as the judges were clearly impressed and gave them a 38 for their contemporary routine!
Last but certainly not least, James had the unenviable task of trying to fill Derek's dancing shoes and had the difficult task of learning how to dance with Amy! The learning curve was definitely steep as there were more than a few tumbles during rehearsals, but they all seemed to work out the kinks by showtime as they earned a 39, which was the highest scoring duel routine of the night!
It definitely seems like the contestants are getting stronger with each week, because that was easily the most impressive night we've seen so far! Sadly, it breaks our hearts to see Danica leaving the show, especially after she had one of her better routines of the season! But at this point in the competition, EVERY elimination is going to heartbreaking because all of the contestants are AMAZING!
