You know those weird looking shoes you see people walking around in that basically look like gloves for your feet?
You know, that one guy who runs a lot wears them and claims they're really good for strengthening your feet and teaching you how to run properly?
Vibram, the fancy footwear company behind the FiveFinger shoes, was recently sued by a woman who says the company made false claims with no scientific evidence on the benefits of the shoes and how they can help your feet become more resistant to injury!
The company isn't exactly owning up to any wrongdoing, but they also didn't really deny it either as they agreed upon a settlement to put aside $3.75 million and refund customers who bought the shoes since March 21, 2009! That means you can get as much as $94 if you bought these bad boys in the past few years!
Now does this mean these shoes have absolutely NO benefits? Not really. But what it DOES mean is they're not for everybody, and Vibram probably shouldn't have sold them as some sort of miracle shoe!
