Talk about HORRIBLE timing!
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was attending a conference in Nashville on Wednesday when he was asked about Donald Sterling's racism scandal and his ban from the NBA!
Well Marky Mark has never been one to keep his opinions to himself, and he basically replied by saying all of us, himself included, are a teeny tiny bit racist! Foot, meet mouth!
The always animated NBA owner went on to explain his ill-timed comments, saying:
"If I see a black kid in a hoodie on my side of the street, I'll move to the other side of the street. If I see a white guy with a shaved head and tattoos. I'll move back to the other side of the street. None of us have pure thoughts; we all live in glass houses."
While it seems clear that Mark is simply trying to prove we've all rushed to judgements at some point or another, his comments drew TONS of criticism for the similarities between his description and the outfit Trayvon Martin was wearing when he was shot and killed.
Mark soon found himself apologizing to the Martin family for his comments, but he also says that he stands by everything he said! He took to Twitter and said:
We're definitely hoping Mark's heart is in the right place here, but one thing we know for sure is the timing seriously couldn't have been any worse!
To say racism is a touchy subject in the NBA right now would be a HUGE understatement, and Mark probably should have thought twice before making such controversial statements!
