It seems like modern day diets like to attack carbs!
Carbs are bad, they turn directly into fat, they're pure sugar, they're plotting behind your back, they stole your cat… THE LIST IS ENDLESS!
It's pretty easy to point a finger at carbs whenever we're not reaching our fitness goals quick enough…
But did you know it might be because you're not eating ENOUGH carbs? Or the right kind of carbs??
So here are some "bad" carbs that are actually good for you:
Corn - Healthy whole grain, fiber, vitamin C and antioxidants
Bananas - vitamin B6, manganese, potassium, and fiber
Breakfast cereal (whole grain) - high fiber, low sugar cereals are very healthy
White potatoes - Potassium, vitamin C and lots of fiber
Sourdough bread - less gluten, good probiotics
Green peas - fiber and a great source of phytonutrients, which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties
There you go! Just because you thought they weren't all that healthy, those foods actually can be very beneficial.
So cut up a banana and drop it in your whole grain cereal! Why not have some sourdough toast on the side? Just go easy on the butter!
Happy healthy eating!
