Like, taking offers THIS WEEK!!
Time is winding down as the NBA is doing everything it can to strip Donald Sterling of his ownership of the Los Angles Clippers, and it looks like he might be giving up his team sooner rather than later!
Last week the 80-year-old turned over the team to his wife Shelly Sterling to allow her to make a sale of the team, and it sounds like she had a busy weekend as she's trying to sell the team ASAP!
Sources say Shelly and her lawyer met with Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, who made "a very competitive offer." She's reportedly trying to sell the team by the end of the week.
While Steve Ballmer seems to be the frontrunner right now, Grant Hill Group, Patrick Soon-Shiong, David Geffen and Larry Ellison, and Magic Johnson and the Guggenheim Partners are all still in the running.
It was unclear whether or not the league would allow Shelly to take over team operations, but sources say she's been in close contact with NBA commissioner Adam Silver throughout the process.
We guess the only thing to do now is wait and see who the new Clippers owner is at the end of the week!
