You gotta fight!

For your right!

To get paid for the use of your own intellectual property!

Just ask the Beastie Boys, who fought and WON in court this week after Monster Energy Drink used the group’s music in a 2012 company promotional video!

Only problemo is, they didn’t pay the Beastie Boys to do so!

Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock” Horovitz took the caffeine concocters to court where a jury sided with the boys from Brooklyn and awarded them a cool $1.7 million!

After the ruling, Horovitz spoke about his satisfying victory, saying:

"We're happy. We just want to thank the jury.”

The tracks that Monster used without permission include the Boys MONSTER hits Sabotage, So Whatcha Want and Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun.

Chyeah! Those classics ain’t free, guys! You gotta pay for those!

Monster called the lawsuit “illogical” and explained that the songs were used after an employee mistakenly believed the company had permission to use their music.

That employee just cost you almost $2 million…

The energy drink’s legal team stated their plans to appeal but, this sounds like an open and shut case to us.

You want to use the rhyme, you gotta pay some dimes!

That's really stupid on the company's part. Everyone knows that the Beastie Boys wont let anyone use their music

You don't have anyone's permission unless you have it in writing. Monster are not newbies.
