There are 135,000 smiling Starbucks baristas around the world today after the coffee company made a MAJOR announcement:
If you’re one of their employees, Starbucks is willing to PAY for your college education!
The corporation is teaming with Arizona State University to provide online degrees for all workers who clock at least 20 hours a week behind the counter. If they have the grades, test scores and at least two years of college credit already, ASU will offer them admission to continue their education while Starbucks will foot the bill!
For those with under two years of college under their belt, Starbucks is still willing to pay for part of the cost but even for many of them, courses will be free with government and university aid.
And these benefits will be offered to employees the DAY they start working!
Starbucks found in a recent worker survey that company-wide, college is a serious concern for employees. Seventy percent of Starbucks employees do not have a degree but said they want to earn one.
And now, that goal is possible!
We think this is SO great!
Well done, Starbucks!
