Well, that does it. Kickstarter has OFFICIALLY jumped the shark.
Because this guy (who we have to admit is pretty freakin’ fine) just got paid $40,000 to do something we just cannot believe!
Zach Danger Brown opened up his crowdfunding campaign in order to earn money in his quest to make his first ever potato salad.
You read that right. He made potato salad.
Donations started at a dollar with an initial goal of just $10. But before long, Zach became a bit of an internet celebrity, with more and more money coming in along with requests for him to make MORE potato salad!
As word spread of this spud stud, Zach’s ambition went beyond just potato salad. He added several new stretch goals along with prizes for those who pledged big bucks.
More than 3,600 people have backed this project as of today, with the new goal of getting everyone together for a pizza party!
Well, a pizza party that also served potato salad. Duh.
After receiving so much love (and cash) from so many, Zach posted a video to say thank you to his potato salad loving fan base!

So let this be a lesson to you, Perezcious readers. When doing any simple task in life, make sure you ask the internet for some money beforehand! It just might pay off!
