Derek Jeter’s Farewell At His Last All-Star Game Is Guaranteed To Make You Cry, Even If You’re A Mets Fan! Watch!

Now leaving the All-Star game, the shortstop, number 2, Derek Jeter. Number 2.

41,048 people stood up and cheered as the legendary baseball player bid farewell at last night’s All-Star game in Minneapolis.

Jeets came out in the top of the fourth inning and walked off with Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York playing throughout Target Field.

He tipped his cap to the crowd and then went through a receiving line in the American League dugout, hugging each and every one of his fellow players who all offered him their kind words of congratulations and admiration.

Emerging onto the field for a final time, Derek took off his Yankees cap and raised it toward the stands as flashes filled the stadium.

Annnnnnd here come the tears.

No, not everyone is a Yankees fan and therefore not everyone is a Derek Jeter fan. But as sappy as that new Nike commercial might be, the message of it is true - it is impossible to not respect a player like Jeter.

Although MLB commissioner Bud Selig was sort of seen disrespecting him in the middle of this poignant farewell!

While everyone else was clapping their hands raw, Buddy-boy got caught on camera just standing there! It wasn’t until he realized he was on television that Selig started to applaud!

I was at the game last night and it was just amazing - and very emotional seeing the end of an era with Jeter retiring. Yankees fan or not, you gotta admit Derek Jeter is The Man. #Respect
