Google is literally bringing the human race into the future! Well, more like Google is bringing the future to us!
They've singed a deal with Novartis, a huge company in the health and science industry, to bring us a smart contact lens. They're going to make a lens that monitors glucose levels (for diabetic patients) and one that treats farsightedness.
There are hints about "other uses" for the technology and even a patent for a lens with a built in camera.
That camera could even eventually be used to help blind people see!
It could process images, communicate that info to the person's smart phone, which could in turn relay that information in audio form! Basically, there are some incredible medical innovations possible, but what we're all waiting for is the Google Glass Contact!!
Sergey Brin, cofounder of Google, said:
"Our dream is to use the latest technology in the miniaturization of electronics to help improve the quality of life for millions of people. We are very excited to work with Novartis to make this dream come true."
Yeah! We're excited too! For them to make our dreams come true!
Give us Google Glass Contacts!!!
