In Nicki Minaj's case, showing up late was NOT better than not showing up at all!
The Anaconda rapper is being sued by NBA All-Star party promoters for not honoring her contract back in 2011.
We just wonder why they decided to launch it at her now instead of back then!
Nicki was reportedly expected to make an appearance and stay at the party for an hour, but promoters are saying she got there late, left early, and took $50,000 for it.
According to court documents, this happened three years ago, during the 2011 NBA All-Star weekend in El Lay at the Siren Studios in Hollywood, where her peers, Lil Wayne, Drake, and Trey Songz were all supposed to be in attendance.
Her contract stated she would just attend the party without performing and promoters are claiming she didn't get there until after 1:30 and left before 2 a.m.
That's a pretty short time for a $50,000 appearance! No wonder these party planners are pissed!
Not only are they looking to take their payment to the star back, they're looking for some extra cash to cover her hotel arrangements as well as lost revenue.
Should've just stayed for the full hour, Nicki!
