Orlando Jones Puts A Twist On The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge To Raise Awareness For A Different Cause — And It's Incredible

Orlando Jones used the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness about another important issue!

Over the past few weeks, we've seen TONS of celebs participate in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money and spread awareness for an excellent cause!

However, one issue that still seems to be getting swept under the rug is the violence occurring in Ferguson, Missouri following the shooting and killing of Mike Brown.

Well actor Orlando Jones decided to take the Ice Bucket Challenge himself, but he put a twist on it to turn the attention to the struggle happening in Ferguson. Instead of pouring water on himself, he used a bucket filled with bullet casings and followed with a very clear message, saying:

"I'm a lifetime member of the NRA and an active member of the great state of Louisiana's police force, obviously a special member. So I'm not pointing any fingers here at anybody but myself, and I'm asking something very hard of myself. I'm challenging myself to listen without prejudice, to love without limits, and to reverse the hate. So that's my challenge to me, and hopefully you'll accept this challenge too."

Wow. That's a VERY powerful message.

Of course, Orlando STILL donated the money for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, but he also used his time to raise awareness on another HUGE issue that still needs plenty of attention. Well played, Orlando!

Ch-ch-check out his amazingly inspirational video (below)!

Why ruin a perfectly great message to bring more attention to an issue that has already been overly circulated. It'a not like the country isn't aware already. Makes me like him much much less.

What truly needs to change is within! Rise above, get educated, follow the law, become an involved member of your city. Blaming others, shoplifting, looting, not following the law, protesting will not be enough. There is not such thing as a quick fix. Every minority needs to change for the better in order to empower themselves. I'm saying this because I am part of the minority but I refuse to let that stop me. It's just a shame that people would rather sit around and blame instead of taking action to do better.

I don't know which is worse - the overdone, over hyped bucket challenge or the endless hand wringing over Fergunson.
A black man is shot by a white cop-
the black citizens riot, loot and scream racism.
A white man is shot by a black cop -
the white citizens go to their jobs on Monday.

Re: MoichJB – that's because white men don't get shot by police as frequently. Usually when that happens, justice is served. Regardless of him stealing or not, as a police officer you follow the system that you've been expected to serve. Michael would've had his chance to go to court and face jail time, if that was decided by a jury of his peers. He died over "allegedly" stealing cigars? Come on now! Granted, violence and looting is not justified, but people are tired of seeing injustice against minorities and it go unpunished. Plus, the majority of people just used that as an opportunity. The majority of people are protesting peacefully. Michael Brown, Travon Martin, Don King, and countless others. Until you are in the position of a minority in this country and face injustice every day, don't dare speak on how a person should act accordingly. Even when people act accordingly, they still get profiled and shot
