Scooby-Doo's Daphne Fat Shamed In New Movie! You Won't Believe What Dress Size Counts As 'Fat' And How They're Claiming It's So Awful

daphne scooby doo fat shaming movie to dvd

Warner Bros has a new direct-to-video movie called Scooby-Doo: Frankencreepy.

Normally, we'd bet it'd be another good ol' fashioned mystery full of ghosts, ghouls and Old Man Whoever in a monster mask.

This time though, things got a little… fat shamey.

In the film, Daphne ends up cursed and she transforms from a size 2 to a dreaded size 8!! That's disgusting seeing as how the average American woman's dress size is 14.

The actual message in the movie is about self-acceptance and realizing how beautiful we all truly are.

Heck, even Fred doesn't notice or care about her weight gain.

But still, do they have to bring specific dress sizes into things? Do we really need to declare that a specific dress size counts as "fat?"

We understand it's just a kids' movie but we feel the writers need to think more about the message they send.

Read the story, it says she goes to a size 8 not a size 14.
Am I the only one freaking tired of the Health Police trying to run my life? Last time I went to my favorite coffee shop and ordered a croissant with turkey, bacon, tomato and avocado, they tried to serve it with mustard which tastes terrible with bacon and avocado. I made them take it back and they told me they almost never use mayo anymore so I do not eat there anymore.

I think it is ridiculous that anyone is offended by Frankencreepy! It's a cartoon people…lighten up! Everyone is upset that the size 8 comment in the movie is giving girls body image issues. Guess what? It's all of you people making a big deal about it that are giving girls body image issues! Stop complaining and writing articles about it and start teaching your kids to be comfortable with who they are and how to have a healthy body image. Use TV as a teaching tool to help them, but don't allow your kids to learn about health from TV or get upset over a cartoon. I am a mom of 3 kids, and I don't allow my kids to learn life lessons from TV. I teach them right from wrong and they know what they see on TV is not reality.
