We have a feeling it will take Aaron Lewis a LONG time to live this major flub down.

Aaron, who is best known for his role as the front-man of the band Staind, completely DESTROYED the lyrics to the national anthem at Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday.

While the first moments of the Star-Spangled Banner started out fine, things went downhill real quick when Aaron sang:

"O say can you see by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed were so gallantly streaming?"

If you're not too familiar with our national anthem, let us clear it up for you — Aaron unfortunately left out 'at the twilight's last gleaming' and the 'gallantly streaming' was supposed to come TWO LINES later.

Check out Aaron flub the lyrics and the AH-mazing reactions from the players:

Wow, um, at least he had the guts to get up there and do it?

What makes this story even more interesting is that Aaron viciously called out Christina Aguilera back in the day for her 2011 national anthem fiasco.

The Staind singer chastised:

"I guess I just don't understand how people who sing The National Anthem can be so f—ing self-absorbed that they would try to change that f—ing song. If there is a single song in the history of this country that deserves no creative interpretation, it's that one."

Aaron might need to apologize to Christina at this point

Speaking of apologies, Aaron took to Facebook on Sunday night to publicly make amends for the gaffe.

Aaron explained:

"All I can say is I'm sorry and ask for the Nation's forgiveness. My nerves got the best of me and I am completely torn up about what happened. America is the greatest country in the world. The Star-Spangled Banner means so much to so many, including myself. I hope everyone can understand the intensity of the situation and my true intent of this performance. I hope that the Nation, Major League Baseball and the many fans of our national pastime can forgive me."

Well, it seems like Aaron learned his lesson and we bet he'll never forget those infamous lyrics ever again!
