Fox's Grease: Live just tapped another Broadway Cinderella — Carly Rae Jepsen!
On Wednesday, it was announced that the Call Me Maybe singer will be playing the role of Frenchy (AKA the beauty school dropout) in the popular musical! AH-Mazing!

And it seems the starlet is just as excited as we are for her addition to the cast as she took to Instagram to share her BIG news!
Who could've guessed?!
Move over Bad Blood, and so sorry Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa, because none of you can claim the top spot as song of the summer — at least according to Billboard!

The music outlet looked at the data and trends and determined that the song of the summer — perhaps an unlikely winner — is actually Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) by OMI!!
Even OMI himself, born Omar Samuel Pasley, was a bit shocked by his crossover success coming to the United States from Jamaica! He said:
Carly Rae Jepsen is here to kick off your weekend!
The Making The Most Of The Night songstress stopped by TODAY to perform her hits and talk about her new album E•MO•TION!

In between delivering crowd-pleasing performances of I Really Like You and Call Me Maybe, the 29-year-old explained why she took her time to record her upcoming album.
She also dishes on playing Cinderella on Broadway, her writing process, and how Tom Hanks came to be in her I Really Like You video!
Check out the interview and performance (below) and pick up Carly's album on August 21!
Carly Rae Jepsen really really really really really really likes exploring… song subjects! Get your heads out of the gutter! LOL!
JK! In this case totally feel free to keep them in the gutter, because the pop princess ADMITTED she wrote a song about loving herself — in that way!

During an interview on the New York radio show Zach Sang & The Gang, the songbird beat around the bush before coughing up deets about the dirty ditty, saying:
”I have no rules. I'm laughing because near the end of the album you just have to try everything, at least that's my theory on it. You've just got to let yourself explore."
The singer was quick to point out that the steamy song wasn't only her idea!
Now this could be a hit!
Carly Rae Jepsen is forever connected to one particular song, but she's determined not to be a one-hit wonder!
She's done a lot of studio work since Call Me Maybe, and she drops a new album on August 21 called E•MO•TION!

As a way to celebrate her new album, she's also been releasing songs early, giving fans a preview of what's to come. And if her release on Friday is any indication, we hope these next two weeks move really quickly before her album drops in full!
Miz Jepsen released the Sia-penned Making The Most Of The Night late Thursday night, a fun pop/dance song with a catchy hook, a funky bassline, and some addictive call-and-response vocals — ch-ch-check out the fun new single (below):
We really, really, really, really, really, really like Carly Rae Jepsen's Much Music Video Awards red carpet look!
The Canadian songbird totally amped up her sex appeal in a slinky hot pink ensemble.
From the leggy slit to the V neckline, it perfectly showed off the performers teeny frame! Miz Jepen's makeup was on point, and her messy bob and bangs provided a fun touch — though the back was a little over-teased.
We give this look a B+!

Canada loves them some Carly Rae Jepsen!
So of course she hit the stage at the Much Music Video Awards to perform her latest song I Really Like You.
And while the song is super catchy, it wasn't exactly a show-stopping performance.
We would've liked if she packed a little more of a punch up on stage.
But that doesn't take away from the fun of the song!
