What tragic news.
An actor who made a name for himself in his home state of Hawaii after starring in just a single movie has died due to complications with pneumonia at the age of 32.
Joshua "Li'iBoy" Shintani — who appeared in 2001's Shallow Hal opposite Gwyneth Paltrow, Jack Black, and Jason Alexander — passed away from his condition after a few days of hospitalization last Wednesday.

Apparently, the actor known for singing Never Forget Where I'm From in the film was taken to the emergency room by his mother early last week but unfortunately passed away just a day before Thanksgiving.
Li'iBoy was Josh's character in the movie, and he became such a local celeb in Kauai that the nickname stuck with him for the 14 years until his untimely death last week.
Our thoughts are with Joshua's friends and family at this unbelievably difficult time.
Rest in peace, Li'iBoy.

This could be a good first step in a long road to recovery.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Criminal Minds star notably walked off the set of Dr. Phil in the middle of an interview just a few months ago, unwilling to confront his problems and find a solution with Dr. Phil.

If you're like us, you've been closely following Joey Feek's emotional journey as she battles stage-four cervical cancer under hospice care after ineffective chemotherapy treatments.
In another beautifully penned update entitled Braver Than Me by her husband and bandmate Rory Feek, we learn Joey is, as of right now, unable to get out of bed but holds steadfast to hope.
Rory explains the couple's reason to share their story with the hope to inspire others:
"Sharing what we're going through with others is really all we have to give. If you share what you're going through with me… maybe I'll be able to draw something good from it if I am one day in your shoes."
