We still don't know for sure what caused Joan Rivers' tragic death.
But as New York authorities continue to investigate the disputed circumstances, it seems at least that the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic is not waiting for more information.
According to sources at the clinic, Dr. Lawrence Cohen, a world-renowned doctor who co-founded Yorkville Endoscopy, was asked to step down from the board there.
He also has apparently been on administrative leave since August 28th.
Sources report that the board took issue with Dr. Cohen allowing Joan's ear-nose-throat doctor to step in and perform or help with some kind of procedure, even though he wasn't licensed at the clinic.
It was reported that procedure was an unauthorized biopsy, but the clinic is denying that.

Joan Rivers planned every teeny tiny detail of her funeral.
Besides asking that her hair blow in the wind like Beyoncé, Joan asked the multi-talented Hugh Jackman to sing at her funeral at New York's Temple Emanu-El last week.
Of course, Hugh obliged.
Joan was convinced that the hunk was the right man for the job when she saw him in The Boy from Oz.
The passing of Joan Rivers was so sudden it has a lot of people pointing fingers.
A report came out on Wednesday that the clinic where Joan stopped breathing had allowed a doctor to give her a biopsy that she never agreed to while she was under anesthesia.
This is obviously a very serious and shocking allegation that could get several people fired and worse. If it's true.
But Yorkville Endoscopy is denying the entire story.
We still cannot believe we've lost the comedic legend, Joan Rivers.
However, we will be able to see her on television in the pretty near future, hopefully.
Donald Trump sent out the following tweet announcing that the late comedienne was already featured in two episodes of Celebrity Apprentice as an advisor:
Details about Joan Rivers' funeral are slowly being released and this may be the most touching one yet.
In the initial reports, Melissa Rivers' eulogy was mentioned as being incredibly sweet, yet also extremely hilarious.
And now that we've read it, we TOTALLY agree!
Melissa honored her mother by reading a passage of her upcoming book A Letter to My Mom, set to be published in April, that she wrote to her mother.
It centered around the fact that Joan used to stay with Melissa when she would fly back to LA from New York to tape her Fashion Police episodes.
The whole thing is quite hilarious and totally the type of tribute she'd want from her daughter.
Like mother, like daughter!
After the incredible funeral for Joan Rivers in New York City the other day, Melissa Rivers hosted an intimate gathering of their close friends!
In the small get-together between her close friends, Melissa decided to stay true to what her mother always did.
She lit candles and organized flower arrangements in the same style that her mother once did, which made it feel as if Joan was going to waltz into the room at any moment.
A source said:
When loved ones are lost, it's so hard to carry on with business as usual.
But Joan Rivers' Fashion Police co-host and dear friend Giuliana Rancic was thrown right back into the fashion world only one day after Joan's funeral, as she was set to present her G by Giuliana line as a part of New York Fashion Week.
At the HSN Fall Fashion Lounge event, she dressed respectfully in the color of mourning, wearing all black from neck to toe.
But even though her attire was sombre, Giuliana still managed to break out a smile for photographers and show off some of her wares!
We're sure Joan would be proud of Giuliana for still participating in NYFW even during this difficult time.
Fashion WAS one of Joan Rivers' favorite things to talk about, after all!
