Aaron Hernandez's death has officially been ruled a suicide.
The former New England Patriots star apparently hanged himself in his prison cell on Wednesday morning, just a few short days after he was acquitted of double murder.
Hernandez's family and legal team were shocked by the terrible news, as the 27-year-old showed no signs he was suicidal — some even questioned if the suicide was staged to cover up a murder by his fellow inmates.
But new evidence, along with a cause of death confirmation, confirms the former NFL athlete did, in fact, take his own life.

The Worcester District Attorney's Office said officers recovered three handwritten suicide notes next to a Bible in his single-inmate cell. Two of these notes were addressed to specific people, while the third was addressed to the public.
