We thought Neil Patrick Harris did a pretty good job hosting the Oscars, but apparently it wasn't enough.
It looks like this year's show may have had the lowest ratings in four years!
Based on the early numbers, NPH's Oscars viewership is down 10 percent from Ellen DeGeneres' 2014 show.

Of course, it's not necessarily fair to blame Neil for lack of interest.
It's always helpful for ratings when people really connect to the movies that are up for awards — it's especially good if there are some big blockbusters in the mix.
This year's selection of art films and prestige biopics may have been critically lauded, but there were definitely some audience favorites — like The LEGO Movie for instance — that were completely ignored by the Academy.
We'll have to wait and see if producers end up making any big changes to try to turn the ratings around next year.
Neil Patrick Harris had some pretty memorable moments from the Oscars last night.
Not only was his opening number freaking AH-Mazing, but the bit where he stripped down to his undees had everyone dying with laughter!

It was a very risky move and the show's host HAD to be nervous about it, right?!
Well according to NPH, he wasn't!
The 41-year-old explained how he felt in the moment at the Governor's Ball after the show, saying:
Neil Patrick Harris was so prepared for the Oscars! Or so we thought!
The host with the most wore the least clothing ever when he got caught mid-wardrobe change!

You know what? Video just isn't good enough! Let's dissect that in GIFs:
We knew Neil Patrick Harris would do a musical number and perform some magic at the Oscars, but we didn't realize he would combine them!
Not to mention pulling a Billy Crystal and jumping into the movies all over again!

But NPH brought the movie magic back with a little help from Anna Kendrick and Jack Black, and the songwriters of Frozen — Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
