We never realized Russell Brand was such a big softie!

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star was scheduled to give the keynote address at this year's SXSW festival, where Brand: A Second Coming — filmmaker Ondi Timoner's documentary about him — will premiere.
Unfortunately for those looking forward to that speech, Russell has officially cancelled.
Why? Because the movie kind of depressed him. He explained:
With Jon Stewart announcing his retirement from his 17-year stint on The Daily Show, everyone is wondering if the Comedy Central hit will even continue.
And if it does, who will take over? We mean, could anyone possibly take the place of Jon Stewart??

John Oliver did a bang-up job for a few months, but now he has his own gig on HBO.
So who could possibly sit the throne of late night news comedy once it's vacated later this year?
Here are some possibilities to consider:
It looks like the rumors are true!
On Sunday, John Mayer made an appearance at the Super Bowl to support his
ex lady love and halftime show performer, Katy Perry.
Hmm, we have a feeling John wouldn't fly all the way to Arizona if it weren't for someone special!

According to an onlooker, Mayer was the first one to congratulate Perry on spectacular halftime performance and even joined the Dark Horse singer and Missy Elliott at an after-party.
Yep, it sounds like these two are definitely boyfriend and girlfriend again, which we find inneresting considering the pair broke up in February of last year! What is with these two and February!?
Check out a sweet pic of Missy and the love birds (below)!
Preach, Russell Brand!
On Friday, the comedian released a video on his YouTube channel, The Trews, defending Bruce Jenner against media scrutiny.

Unfortunately, Bruce has received a lot of negative attention for his changing appearance and Brand is NOT happy about all the backlash which he describes as "transphobic".
To be clear — Jenner has NEVER confirmed or denied
Every year The Guardian compiles a list of the 100 most powerful people in the U.K. media.
Topping the list are obvious choices like Google's Larry Page, Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, and Apple's Tim Cook.

But hitting number 10, far and away the highest spot for a woman this year, is our girl Taylor Swift!
Gurl has proved her influence over the music industry with her fight against Spotify "bringing the issue of artist remuneration into the spotlight."
Whether you agree with her or not, you can't deny Swifty's power!
But who else made the list?
We're not sure if Russell Brand is the best late night guest… or the worst! And we're pretty sure Jimmy Fallon feels the same way!
Russell stopped by The Tonight Show and played a little Word Sneak, but as usual the comedian seemed more interested in taking it apart than playing along.

We've never seen Jimmy so flustered!

It's truly inspiring that she's such an open book!
We love Katy Perry for her fun songs and honest lyrics — so in a recent interview, we weren't really shocked when the songstress confessed that many personal questions about her life are revealed in her music…
But the conversation with Australia's The Project took a turn for the dark, when Miz Perry got into talking about one of the final songs on the Prism album:
"Then there's By the Grace of God — which is the first song that I wrote coming to make this record, when I was in a different place, I was in a darker place."

The shadowy moments she faced were predictably after her very public split from comedian Russell Brand. Katy went on to hint at suicidal thoughts following the breakup:
