Shailene Woodley is a force to be reckoned with!
As we reported earlier, the 24-year-old was arrested Monday for protesting the building of the Dakota Access Pipeline in Sioux County, North Dakota, where she and about 100 others had gathered to hopefully prevent the construction from taking place.

Shailene was recording the entire ordeal for about an hour and managed to capture her own arrest on video!
When asked why she's the sole person being arrested, police tell the actress that she was identified. So basically she was specifically targeted for being famous, which is ridiculous but also not surprising.
In the clip, Shailene speaks to her Facebook followers as the arrest is happening:
"I'm being arrested. Because I was trespassing like everyone else but as soon as you guys asked me to leave I left…I was down there with everybody else. As soon as they came I left. It's because I'm well known. It's because I have 40,000 people watching."

According to TMZ, Woodley was among a group of one hundred protesters who assembled in Sioux County, North Dakota to express outrage over the controversial project. The news comes on the heels of a Federal appeals court rejecting a request to halt construction.
As for why Woodley and the other protesters are so enraged, the project will be built across sacred Standing Rock Sioux land and burial grounds.

Shailene Woodley is offering up rare insight into her personal life.
Sitting down for an interview with the NET-A-PORTER.com's digital magazine The EDIT, the 24-year-old opens up about how her nontraditional upbringing shaped the person she's become for the better.
The California native — who was raised by her psychologist father and counselor mother — explains that although she had a peculiar childhood, she wouldn't have it any other way.
"My family is super-f*cked up in many ways, but they are also my everything. They would do anything for me, and I would do anything for them. That's a lot more than most people can say about their families. I'm grateful for the sh*t that happened."

Without going into too much detail (per usual), the Divergent star remembers a time when her and her younger brother were forced to stand on the lawn and hug it out for hours on end after an argument:
"From what I know, they want to proceed with a television show, which is not something that I signed up to do. Out of respect to the whole scenario, there could be things that have changed, but I didn't sign up to do a TV show."
