No expecting parent should have ever have to go through this!
Video: Zoe Stops By Lip Sync Battle!
In a raw conversation with Allure Magazine, Zoe Saldana opened up about what it was like to give birth to her twin boys Cy and Bowie Saldana via an emergency c-section. The precious babies were delivered at thirty-two weeks after the actress experienced a rapid decline in her health.
While Z.S. had kept quiet about this frightening incident before, it seems like enough time has passed for her to recall the painful experience. We can't imagine how scary this situation must have been for Zoe and her gorgeous husband Marco Saldana!
Speaking on the complicated birth, the beauty revealed:
"The boys came at 32 weeks. They found protein in my urine; my platelets crashed. I didn't qualify for an epidural, so I delivered under general anesthetic. I didn't even meet them until a day later."
Wow. For those who don't know, thirty-two weeks is equivalent to about eight months.
Even though it's not clear what caused the momma's health scare, one thing is certain — she's SO thankful her boys made it out okay:
"Looking back, I think the boys were three or four months old, and one morning I woke up with just this flood of emotions. Marco had them, too, and we were able to have our deconstruction session in the bathroom while they were napping, to say to each other, 'Holy shit, did we come close to it all changing forever?' We allowed ourselves to have a moment of 'poor us.' And that was it. Then somebody cried, and it was 'Got to go!'"
Well, it's obvious the parents are very appreciative that things turned out the way they did. It's such a relief to see the couple enjoying their lives with the new family members!
In fact, the brunette is SO smitten with her babies she can't help but blabber on about them 24/7:
"My husband and I went to dinner the other night with some friends, and all I kept doing was talking about the boys. You can see how conversations just…" She pantomimes eyes glazing over. "I remember asking Marco, 'Am I talking too much about the boys?'"
Ha! It sounds totally reasonable to us, Zoe! Live your truth!
