Early Thursday evening President Obama gave a statement from the White House regarding the tragic loss of former South African President Nelson Mandela.
Obama captured Mandela's long and heroic political journey perfectly, sharing many kind words:
"He achieved more then could be expected of any man, and today he’s gone home. And we’ve lost one of the most influential and courageous and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this earth.”

There was so much vocal power at Rockefeller Center's tree lighting last night, we're surprised the bulbs didn't explode! LOLz!
Along with a fleet of divas— including Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande — Leona Lewis celebrated the lighting of the HUGE Christmas tree in NYC with a grand performance.
The songstress hypnotized with a effortlessly stunning rendition of White Christmas and it felt holier than eggnog on Christmas morning! HA!
We know what tunes we'll be blasting by the fire this season.

What a sad day!
The world has truly lost one of its greatest leaders as reports have come out that Nelson Mandela has died at the age of 95.
The man who famously and bravely led South Africa out of apartheid after spending 27 years in prison has gone to his final rest, and many celebrities took to Twitter to remember, honor, and mourn the loss of so well loved a man.
Here's what Hollywood's finest had to say about the late politician:
To honor the great Nelson Mandela, a man whom we've just learned has sadly passed away, Kate Middleton and Prince William put on their fanciest clothes to attend the premiere of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom in London.
The Duchess looked absolutely stunning in a recycled cream Roland Mouret long-sleeved gown with a short slit that showed off her royal calves, and she paired the exquisite number with a silver necklace from Zara.
Talk about high-low — that necklace is gonna fly off shelves.
Black Prada pumps and a Mulberry clutch matched the black velvet sash in her ponytail and put the perfect finishing touch on her look!
And, obvi, Prince William looked dashing as always. We didn't forget him!
Both royals sincerely stunned while paying homage to a man who impacted the world in so many ways we can't even begin to express our gratitude for.

OMG! WHY IS THERE SEMEN ON BATMAN'S COWL!?
James Franco posted two very provocative Batman-inspired pics today, and we really aren't sure how to react!
The pictures were captioned with "50 Shades of Batman" and, with the hairy nipples and batman's iconic suit of armor turned into fetish gear, it's really not hard to see why!
Ch-ch-check out the second sex-ay photo…AFTER THE JUMP!!!
Whoa! Look at that concentration!
Looks like Kristen Stewart is showing that she is someone you do NOT want to mess with!
Which you can totally tell on a daily basis, since she hardly ever smiles except for very rare occasions!
Well, ya know, except when she's spotted hanging out with Robert Pattinson!
But, seriously, how badass does KStew look in this pic!?!?
It's from her upcoming film Camp X-Ray where she plays a guard at Guantanamo Bay who befriends a detained prisoner!
Sounds intense and the complete OPPOSITE of anything Twilight-related! We're totes excited to see how she portrays this character!
Though we're waaaaaaay more excited by the fact that an R-Patz/KStew reunion relationship seems to be on its way!

Aww, this is sad but totally understandable!
The city of Santa Clarita has had to remove all of the fan memorabilia from the street that had been placed at the site of Paul Walker's tragic death!
The site has become so cluttered with candles, tributes, flowers, etc. that it's become a road hazard!
In addition to this, the city will also be enforcing NO parking on the street near the scene of the crash!
Though we're sure fans will be upset, we hope they'll understand! We don't want anymore tragic accidents in that area so it's probably a good idea for the city to do this!
We just hope they can find another way to honor the 40-year-old actor's death!
