The Met Gala is all about taking fashion risks.

And Michelle Williams did just that! Not only did she show up on the 2016 red carpet in a tiny navy blue and black dress, but she happily showed off some teeny tiny bangs.

While the bangs were distracting, Michelle's simple outfit still caught our attention when up against all the glam gowns that make their way down the carpet.

Paired with black boots, Michelle didn't overdo it — and while we like a little more glitz on the red carpet, we didn't all together hate it.

Different can be good! But it can also be better than this, ha!

Lorde Is Real Life Cotton Candy While Zoë Kravitz Mistakes The Met Gala For A Masquerade!

Met Gala 2016: Lorde, Miles Teller, and Zoe Kravitz walk the red carpet.

These three sure didn't talk beforehand about their respective outfits.

Lorde, Miles Teller, and Zoë Kravitz's looks were all over the place at the Met Gala in NYC Monday night.

The Royals singer basically dressed as a frothy sorbet in her tiered ruffle gown with low-cut surplice neckline, which was fine but not as fierce as we would've liked. Though her arm cast was pretty edgy!

Miles, in his blue tux, wasn't much to write home about, while Zoë was far too casual for our taste in her simple black mini dress.

Also, that lace mask/headpiece she wore would've fit in better if the theme was a masquerade ball. Which it totally wasn't!

Is this ragtag trio doing it for you, Perezcious readers???

Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning

Sister, sister!

Dakota Fanning and Elle Fanning were where light meets dark at the 2016 Met Gala!

First up, the 22-year-old beauty stunned in this charcoal velvet gown with a dramatic ribbon detail designed by Guillaume Henry of Nina Ricci. He told The Cut he wanted Dakota to look "as light as the wind and as shiny as a rain of sequins" in the customized gown from his fall-winter 2016 show.

Meanwhile, her little sister proved she ain't so little anymore in this custom Thakoon ivory duchesse silk slip gown. The 18-year-old pulled her blonde locks in a tight Spice Girls-esque pony tail. Chic and simple!

We heard the two Fanning gals prepped for the big day together — so we're sure they planned to look as different as possible from each other!

Nicely done, ladies!

Love the lewks!

Rachel McAdams and the Olsen Twins coordinated on the Met Gala's swirled carpet in gold and black — how cute!

The True Detective star opted for a nude and gold frock, featuring plenty of sequins and embroidered detailing. What's not to love!? She completed the ensem with a wavy bob, vampy makeup, and minimal jewels to not take away from the clothes. Bravo!

Mary-Kate opted for her signature baggy black, pairing it with a velvet purse — while Ashley went a bit bolder in a similarly silhouetted nude/gold number.

Overall, these ladies displayed their own unique styles and we dig it.

Kate Hudson Perfectly Embodies The Met Gala's Futuristic Theme Alongside Donatella Versace On The Red Carpet!

Now THIS is how you pull off a theme!

Kate Hudson let her dress speak for itself on the Met Gala red carpet on Monday, and we sure are glad she did… because it had a lot to say.

The Fabletics designer opted for an Atelier Versace gown for the Manus x Machina soiree, and not only did she look stunning, but the white rubber read as paper, which made her look like she was floating down the carpet!

Doesn't she look like the happiest belle of the ball?!

Not to be outdone, Donatella Versace went with a simpler — yet just as captivating — blood orange number with a shimmering sheer fabric over it that gave the entire look a 3D effect.

Lookin' good, ladies!

Did Kate make your Best Dressed list??

Allison Williams and Jessica Chastain are known for keeping it classy!

At the 2016 Met Gala, the pair opted for lovely floor length gowns with floral accents. While Chastain's dress had a lot more poof than Williams', the looks were quite reserved in comparison to outfits donned by Solange Knowles and Madonna.

While we definitely agree that sometimes less in more, in this case we would have liked to see the pair get more creative with their ensembles since this is the one event where celebs can really let loose. Even though the gals look absolutely beautiful, they could have stepped it up a bit!

As for Allison, we have to commend the actress on her bangin' bod. We definitely spot some killer and enviable abs in the cut-out portion of her dress!

So, what do YOU think of the ladies' choices?

Kate Mara Gives Us A Glimpse At What We Hope The Future Doesn't Look Like At The Met Gala

Jamie Bell and Kate Mara

Womp womp.

We're not loving this plastic rhodoid disk dress by Paco Rabanne on Kate Mara at the Met Gala!

The 33-year-old beauty made her entrance to fashion's biggest night alongside her beau Jamie Bell — and we gotta say, we think she could do better!

Does anyone else think the bottom looks like a cut-up trash bag? LOL!

Miz Mara paired the see-through, mixed media mini with a black clutch, slicked back hair, and natural makeup.

Do U like the latex look, Perezcious readers?? SOUND OFF in the comments!
