The Best Celebrity Organizing Tips For Your Spring Cleaning!

Kourtney Kardashian is probably a master at spring cleaning! In a 2016 interview with Vogue, the momma of three explained how she keeps her home in order! For one, she explained the importance of organizing your closet and using all the same hangers:

"Everything, no matter how small, should have its own place, its own home. Making sure all of the items in your closet are color-coordinated is a great way to start. It's the only way I can even look at anything in mine. Also, divide your clothes up into categories: for shoes, you can have all flat shoes together, sneakers together, flip-fops together, then heels, booties, high boots, thigh-high boots, et cetera. All the hangers should also be the same, and I prefer the felt kind—black for Mason and Reign's room, cream for Penelope's and mine. This just makes your closet look so much better, even if it's slightly messy. It will never look that crazy if you constantly have a place for everything to put it back right where it came from each time."

And when it comes to cleaning out her clothes, she shared:

"I don't plan to clean out my closet in the spring or at the beginning of the year, I do it when I need to and when I feel like it might make me feel more relaxed. One thing I think is helpful is having someone come over whose opinion you really value. They can help put things into perspective: telling you what should be given up and what shouldn't. I always have my friend Scotty, who does my hair, come over, and he'll push me to get rid of things so I'm not wasting my time sifting through and not purging the right items. Also, again, start with categories: We just did a huge clean-out of Penelope's pajamas, and it made such a difference."

She even finds her little sis Kim has come in to "help" out with her junk drawers sometimes:

"I definitely have a junk drawer—a couple, in fact. The drawer next to my bed is kind of scary, and then I have another one in the kitchen. On New Year's Eve, when everyone was over, Kim started cleaning it out without telling me, and later I looked in the trash and was like, 'Why did you throw all these things away!?' My friend told us, 'Everyone's got one of those drawers.' Kim and I were battling that night about what I could get rid of and what I shouldn't, and I have to say I do love getting rid of things. I used to not be able to part with anything—my mom is that way—but now after living here for a while, I love to cleanse."
