I had to create an account just to say this. I am greatly disheartened by the number of celebrities promoting pure bred animals. Thus, promoting breeding. The only dogs on there who look like they may have come from a shelter are Lily Allen's, Sienna Miller's and David Duchovny's. I work at an animal shelter, and the fact that breeding is still so disgustingly popular to protect "traits" of breeds (traits like brains being too large for their skulls in 2/3 of cavalier king charles spaniels) creating far more harm than good. More celebrities should get on the rescue bandwagon. Not saying that some of the purebred dogs on here weren't rescued from societies or poor situations, but most of them, I'm sure, were not.
Not to mention the teacup trend. For those unaware, teacup sized dogs suffer from a deformity, and it is NOT something breeders should aim for (Paris!). Their life is stunted, and they usually suffer from birth!
