Justin Hartley wants his ex-wife to be quiet!
A clip from the new season of Selling Sunset was released this week showing a tearful Chrishell Stause describing her side of the divorce from the This Is Us star. And it’s pretty devastating.
In the aftermath a source tells Us Weekly that The Young and The Restless alum is feeling “irritated” by the realtor’s choice to open up about things so publicly.

The insider shared:
“Justin has not watched the episodes but has been alerted to what is said. He’s irritated that she’s airing their private information publicly and knows there is more to the story than is being told. His close friends and family know what really happened, as does Chrishell, so ultimately it’s her choice of what is put out there.”
Yikes!!
As we mentioned, this insight into Hartley’s thoughts comes after the third season of Selling Sunset dropped on Netflix, including a conversation between Stause and fellow realtor Mary Fitzgerald, where she shared through tears:
“I found out because he text[ed] me that we were filed. Forty-five minutes later, the world knew.”
While acknowledging the public’s interest in their split, it sounds like the 39-year-old seems to have been just as taken aback by the separation as we were:
“Because of the crazy way in which this went down, people want answers, and I f**king want answers. I know people are saying we were only married two years, but it’s like, we were together for six years… In a fight, that’s his go-to, you know? Like, ‘I’m out, I’m out.’ I hate that kind of impulsive stuff, but I always just thought, you know, that’s just an issue that we work through it.”
The Netflix star continued (below), explaining how she didn’t think Justin was initially serious about taking the step to separate officially, but when he did she had to “scramble” to collect her belongings and find a place to live:
“If that’s really what you wanted, there are better ways to go about [it]. I talked to him right after ‘cause I thought that must be a joke, but that was kind of the end of the communication. What am I supposed to say? What do you say after that? It’s like, now I have to find a place to live. Now I have to scramble and figure this out, you know?”
She specifically recalled what it was like having to gather her items after the 43-year-old’s bombshell was dropped on her:
“When I found out, I was minutes before leaving the house for work, so I immediately just grabbed a few things and I just got out of there as fast as I could. I don’t think I really knew where I was going or what I was gonna do, but I just had to leave.”
In the new season Chrishell continues to lean on her co-stars for support, and seemingly referenced her ex’s success on the NBC series as a reason for their split, claiming that “outer elements have reared their ugly head and inserted themselves into our relationship.”
But the source tells Us that isn’t the case, saying:
“The claims made in the show that something changed in Justin after his This is Us fame are completely false. Chrishell knows that’s not what happened, so for her to let people believe that is upsetting to him.”
