Despite being one of the most popular and acclaimed films last year, Straight Outta Compton was majorly snubbed at the 2016 Oscars.
Though the N.W.A. biopic didn't get the praise it deserved from the Academy, it finally got some recognition at the MTV Movie Awards!
So after winning the Best True story award, Jason Mitchell — who played Easy-E in the film — decided to throw some long overdue shade at the prestigious award show that was notoriously not-so-colorful this year.
Joined on stage by costars O'Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins, Aldis Hodge, and Neil Brown Jr., plus original N.W.A. member DJ Yella, Mitchell took the mic and said:
"I would just like to take a moment to, like, thank the Academy — I mean, MTV. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. My bad!"
