The Lego Movie Takes The Best Animated Feature At The Critics' Choice Awards

| Filed under: Film FlickersCritics' Choice Awards

Your Reaction?

It doesn't matter how old you are, animated movies are still amazing!

And the Critics' Choice Movie Awards knows this, which is why they honored some of the best films of the year!

The Best Animated Feature category was stacked, with Big Hero 6 by Disney, The Book of Life by Reel FX Creative Studios, The Boxtrolls by Laika, How to Train Your Dragon 2 by DreamWorks Animation, and The Lego Movie by Warner Bros. Pictures.

And even though The Lego Movie was one of the biggest movies of the year, it was snubbed by the Oscars.

But so what?! Because it was totally redeemed by THIS show when it took the award for Best Animated Feature.

Nothing like a lil' action!

At the 2015 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, there was plenty of action.

And the film that won the title of Best Action Movie was Guardians of the Galaxy beating out American Sniper, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Edge of Tomorrow, and Fury.

All the movies were intense, fast, and so much fun! We couldn't pick a winner, but that's the critics' job!

| Filed under: John KrasinskiEmily BluntCritics' Choice Awards

Your Reaction?

So well-deserved!

For the first female acting award of the night, Emily Blunt beat out some other A-list celebs to win the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for an Actress in an Action Movie.

She really was fun to watch in the Edge of Tomorrow, but her acceptance speech might have been even better!

Emily used her time on stage to highlight how amazing it was to play a woman in an action flick who wasn't just a damsel in distress.

To win her award, she beat out Scarlett Johansson for Lucy, Jennifer Lawrence for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1, Zoe Saldana for Guardians of the Galaxy, and Shailene Woodley for Divergent.

Plus, Emily even got to share a totally adorable moment with her husband John Krasinski.

Ch-ch-check out the award-winning moment (above)!!!

Patricia Arquette & Boyfriend Eric White Take Color Coordination To New Heights At The Critics' Choice Awards!

| Filed under: Fashion SmashionCritics' Choice AwardsRed Carpet

no title

They're the color coordinated couple of the night!

Patricia Arquette and her boyfriend Eric White both showed up in monochromatic ensems at the Critics' Choice Awards in Hollywood!

Except we think that might be the reason we're not completely in love with their looks.

Patricia's black dress hugged her figure flawlessly, but even with its chic cape, it was still lacking that extra oomph fitting for the red carpet! And her black peep-toe pumps? Not our fave.

Sigh. Hopefully she's saving something more breath taking for her next red carpet!

Ellar Coltrane Is The Best Young Actor At The Critics’ Choice Awards

| Filed under: Critics' Choice Awards

Your Reaction?

If these kids are the future, then Hollywood is in good hands!

There was so much talent in the Best Young Actor/Actress Award category at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, but only one of them could win.

It was a tough call, but Ellar Coltrane beat out the competition for his labor of love in Boyhood.

The super talented people he beat out were Ansel Elgort in The Fault in Our Stars, Mackenzie Foy as young Jessica Chastain in Interstellar, Jaeden Lieberher in St. Vincent, Tony Revolori in The Grand Budapest Hotel, Quvenzhane Wallis as Annie, and Noah Wiseman in The Babadook.

Even though Ellar is much older now, that's kinda the point of why he won, right?

Your Reaction?

This show is going to be AWESOME!

Michael Strahan set the bar impossibly high for the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards opening.

The daytime TV host kicked things off with the help of some dancing shirtless hotties! And while his jokes were good, we all were waiting to see the Magic Mike XXL actor get pantsless too!

And just when we thought he wasn't going to, Mr. Strahan gave the audience what we were looking for!

Birdman Flies Away With The Critics' Choice Award For Best Acting Ensemble

| Filed under: Film FlickersNaomi WattsZach GalifianakisCritics' Choice AwardsEmma StoneEdward Norton

Your Reaction?

There was some stiff competition, but Birdman flew away with first Critics' Choice Movie Award of the night!

Alejandro González Iñárritu's black comedy won the award for Best Acting Ensemble thanks to the excellent work from Michael Keaton, Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Amy Ryan, and Andrea Riseborough.

While crushing its competition, Birdman beat out the casts from Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Into the Woods, and Selma.

Birdman was the most nominated film of the entire night, so it's no surprise that it started off with a win.

We wonder if it'll be able to sweep all 13 of its categories!?
