Everyone on knows the first rule of parenting: Always blame the kids!
Florida father, David Andrew Shawfield, didn't forget to make his young children feel guilty as police were handcuffing him!
The #1 dad left his three small children in the car — alone, crying, and with the doors open — while he stepped inside the supermarket to grab them an cold drink. So selfless!
When dad retuned to his car he found police watching his children. Shawfield explained to the coppers that his kids were fine alone. He was only gone for 10 minutes and "the five-year-old was watching them."
For some reason that excuse didn't work on the cops. They pointed out that none of the tots had a booster seat — that alone was enough to send him to jail for neglect.
As the police took him away, the good parent remembered his duty as a father and yelled to his offspring:
"See? I'm going to jail because you wanted something to drink. I'm never going to get out. I hope you're happy."
Then Shawfield told the cops that he was excited about his new trip cause he "could use a vacation."
Clearly this dad knows the second rule of parenting: always find the silver lining.
