We'll be honest — he deserved it!
A PR Firm (Brandlink Communications) reached out and made a pitch to a blogging mom, Jenny Larson from The Bloggess, to which she thanked them for their amazing attempt.
Just kidding, she was hilariously snarky back and let them know that their pitch was actually pretty bad. They didn't do their research on her and her content at all.
The PR woman didn't appreciate that, and responded accordingly — in a relatively civil tone — saying that they would stop contacting her. But her boss, VP and Media Director Jose Martinez, had something to say as well. "What a ****ing ****h!" he said in an email to his subordinate and Lawson.
Obviously, that was a mistake — albeit an amusing one coming from a PR company. He had accidentally hit 'reply-all.'
This is the other thing he said in the email:
"You should be flattered that you are even viewed relevant enough to be pitched at all instead of alienated PR firms and PR people – who are actually the livelihood of any journalists business."
How's 167,000+ followers on Twitter for relevant??
Pretty relevant it turns out, as @BrandlinkComm started trending and people started laying into the firm for being bad at what they do for others, for themselves. And for just being jerks to Jenny!
Hilarious. This is why you shouldn't burn bridges and be a jerk. You catch more flies honey than vinegar, as they say.
Good use of social media, Jenny! We applaud you!
