Has it really come to this?
This is so incredibly tragic…
Jennifer Fox, a pregnant woman, who was at the Occupy Seattle encampment, was hit with pepper spray and kicked in the stomach by Seattle police during Tuesday's protest.
The woman tragically miscarried after the incident.
She is now speaking out about what happened:
"I was standing in the middle of the crowd when the police started moving in. I was screaming, 'I am pregnant, I am pregnant. Let me through. I am trying to get out.' Right before I turned, both cops lifted their pepper spray and sprayed me. My eyes puffed up and my eyes swelled shut."
She added that at that point, a Seattle police officer lifted his foot and it hit her in the stomach, and another officer pushed his bicycle into the crowd, again hitting Fox in the stomach.
"Everything was going okay until yesterday, when I started getting sick, cramps started, and I felt like I was going to pass out."
Doctors said "there was no heartbeat" and diagnosed her with having a miscarriage. "They said the damage was from the kick and that the pepper spray got to it [the fetus], too," she added, also saying:
"I was worried about it, but I didn't know it would be this bad. I didn't know that a cop would murder a baby that's not born yet… I am trying to get lawyers."
It's so disgusting how police have been treating peaceful protestors. This has gone waaay too out of control and something needs to be done.
As for Jennifer, we can't even imagine what she's going through right now. How terrible she must feel. She is in our thoughts.
