Mia Farrow and Al Gore spoke last week at Canada's We Day Event, organized by Free the Children Foundation, encouraging youth to get involved in social justices.
Speaking to over 16,000 people, Mia told the crowd:
"You can change the world. You guys are the architects of the future. Do all the things you think you cannot do. Do all the good you can. Whatever political party you or your families are in, speak up. Remember that you can bring about positive change."
Mia urged the young activists to reach out and do their part as she showed photos of impoverished and starving children in Africa.
Then Prime Minister Paul Martin spoke, telling them:
"These are schools where the kids go and they’re not given the kind of courses that are going to enable them to go onto post-secondary education. Is that fair?"
The crowd then responded with a very enthusiastic, "No!"
What a noble cause. Hopefully their words struck a chord with the young people in attendance. Couldn't have come from two more charitable speakers.
